Okay, Just listen i had this straightener for like 4 years now. It broke on me not to long ago and it does not work anymore. CHI is not suppose to last forever but while it does last it is amazing. It makes your hair straighter then a pin and very shiny. I think it is one of the best hair straighteners I've had and i would DEFINITELY buy another one. Worth the money. (:

i cant believe this flat iron is still around and still extremely expensive, i had this maybe 10 years ago and all the new flat irons are alot lighter and works so much better. i would definitely not recommend this flat iron.

Love it and hate it |

I use to love my Chi, I've had three, this one, the original and two of the ultra chi's. I've had these three, in three years, all of which broke. I was so disappointed when they broke but I bought new ones anyways. One chi's cord got loose and broke, the other ones switch broke, the other ones plate broke and I didn't even drop it. It was horrible and such a waste of money, my hair also was so fried with the product and the paint would get on my hair. It was lovely when I had it, but only for a short while before it started playing tricks with my hair. I can't say I'd recommend this iron to anyone.

Just cause it says CHI doesn't mean its amazing! |

I got a CHI for Christmas two years ago, and thought it was amazing!
Only to find that the plastic coating on the outside of the flat iron started peeling off from the heat.
Also, a few months after buying it, the switch went in it, so every time I turned it on, it started sizzling. I got that fixed at a local repair shop, but a month later, the plates started getting hot.
Everyone says CHI is amazing, but I beg to differ. Its not that great. Yes, it gets hot and straightens your hair, but its made of CRAP quality and doesnt last long AT ALL! I have an Avanti now, and its amazing!
