I originally had a remington shine therapy flat iron that ibought about 8months ago . Iwas looking for anew iron so idecided to buy this one . IHATE IT . This iron feels cheaply made . Iused it and ifelt like it was ripping my hair out ! It overal did a better job then my remington because my hair was softer and there were less split ends but iwill be returning this because it does not help with the breakage of my hair and icant put up with the pulling but not so much of snagging . Both my remington and this cortex leave the smell of fried bacon in my hair and its truly discusting .

I was a little concerned about switching to a narrow flat iron (I used to have a good wide flat iron) but once you try it you can see that it forces you to use smaller sections of hair, but that it works very well. I got the best results for smoothing and straightening my very curly long hair with this product. I totally recommend it.
